1919 To Fleetwood registration after war service as a minesweeper. Previously registered as GY58 RUBY.
November 21 1830

On 18th of SeptemberIDA ADAMS fractured her sternpost some 9 miles sou' east of Barra Head whilst fishing and put into Oban for repairs. In the early hours of the morning or the21st of November she had left Oban and was steaming along the western side of Islay when the vessel ran onto Frenchman's Rock to the north and west of Portnahaven. A futile attempt was made to stem the inflow of water but the crew eventually were forced into the lifeboat and abandoned IDA ADAMS to her fate. The heavy swell soon pounded the stricken vessel until the crew saw her disappear under the waves. The lifeboat made it into Portnahaven from where they were transported back to Fleetwood.
